There are multiple medical surgical instruments that are used in the field of medical and each is used for a different purpose.
The surgical instruments are divided into 4 types:
  1. cutting
  2. grasping
  3. retracting
  4. suturing
Lets talk about them one by one:

Cutting:

Knife (scalpel)
This is used for dissecting or making an incision.
A number of different blades are used in the scalpel and each has a different function
#10: general dissecting
#11: stab incision
