Books for Basic Sciences

When we talk about MBBS the first question that comes to our minds is what books are best to study from? and then when we go to the book stores to find the best suitable books for each subject, we are shown multiple books for each of them and we students end up getting confused as to which books to study from. So today we will talk about the books that are most popular and the best to study from, for each subject of Basic sciences.
Lets start with Anatomy:
  1. Gray's Anatomy for Students: With STUDENT CONSULT Online Access, 2e : This is a book that you must have, it has the best diagrams you will find for anatomy and what's more, these diagrams are easy to understand so you don't get confused. The content of the book is really good, so if you read the content and at the same time see the diagrams given, you can get anatomy on your finger tips.
  2. Clinically Oriented Anatomy : Another good book for Anatomy. Although i don't like the diagrams much because too much information has been show in a single diagram in many places due to which one tends to get confused, but the content of the book is amazing, especially the clinical co-relations in this book are better than any other book. So all the anatomy lovers this is the book for you.
  3. Atlas of Human Anatomy: with Student Consult Access, 5e (Netter Basic Science) : This book contains only diagrams related to gross anatomy. The book gives a visual knowledge of gross anatomy. A book one must have.
  4. Netter's Anatomy Flash Cards: with Online Student Consult Access, 3e (Netter Basic Science)  is another good revision source for anatomy.
Moving on to Physiology:
  1. Guyton and Hall Textbook of Medical Physiology: with STUDENT CONSULT Online Access, 12e (Guyton Physiology) : an amazing book for physiology. This gives you full details on all the things that you must know in physiology. The illustrations of this book are really good and the book content has a very explanatory approach. This book is a must for physiology. Also this book is pretty much all you need to study physiology properly.
Biochemistry:
For biochem the only book that i suggest isBiochemistry (Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews Series), the content of the book is very good and diagramatic illustrations help you understand the concepts properly.
Pathology:
  1. Robbins Basic Pathology: with STUDENT CONSULT Online Access, 9e (Robbins Pathology): This is the only book for pathology that you need, study from this book and then go through the revision books and your concepts will be really good.
  2. Robbins & Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease: With STUDENT CONSULT Online Access, 8e (Robbins Pathology) : as you must have noticed this book is from the same writer as the first book. This book has things very similar to Basic Pathology but there are some additional pictures and diagrams and some additional information, so if you want to study pathology in much detail, then this is the book for you. Otherwise basic pathology by robbins is enough for studying pathology.
Pharmacology:
  1. Pharmacology (Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews Series) : is amazing for the subject of pharmacology. Helps you build concepts and  makes understanding pharmacology easy.
  2. Basic and Clinical Pharmacology, 11th Edition (LANGE Basic Science) : a book for all those students who love pharmacology. A very extensive book, giving good explanations and all the details about all the medicines.
